“Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.” So she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window. Joshua 2:21
Rahab put her life in the hands of the spies. To her, they were representatives of the God of Israel.
Her faith was simple and firm, but it was very obedient. Tying the scarlet cord in the window was a very trivial act in itself, but she dared not forget it.
There is a solemn lesson in Rahab's simple act. Am I implicitly trusting in the precious blood of Jesus? Have I tried the scarlet cord in my window?
There is One who sees the scarlet line even when I lack the faith to see it myself. My Lord will see it and preserve me from His judgment.
