Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered
Hebrews 5:8
The Captain of our salvation was "made perfect" through suffering. Our master's experience teaches us that suffering is necessary.
The true-born child of God should not try to escape it - even if he could. But there is one very comforting thought in the fact of Christ's being "made perfect through suffering." He can sympathise fully with us. We can draw a sustaining power from Christ's sympathy.
Believer, grab onto this thought in your times of agony. Let the thouht of Jesus strengthen you as you follow in His steps. Find a sweet support in His sympathy. To suffer for Christ is glory.
